Our Story

Joe White – Founder

Joe first started installing carpet with his father at a young age. While attending school during the day, in the afternoons he would nail down tack-strip, lay pad, cut carpet, and make seams on his dad’s crew. In the mid 1990’s – Joe founded Joe’s Carpet Service. Eventually as the Wake County and the surrounding areas expanded, so did Joe’s vision. As we began undertaking more projects involving all varieties of flooring- we eventually became JW Floorcoverings Inc. Today, Joe’s sons work alongside him and his wife of over 30 years in the family business; making them third generation flooring installers. Carole, his wife, also plays a critical role in the business. Between assisting in appointments, keeping the company’s books in order, pulling trailers-even laying floor, the company would not be possible without her. Carole is the backbone that holds the company together. In their free time, you can find them out listening to a band, on the beach, or playing with their two grandchildren. Joe is also a passionate musician at heart, and you will see him on guitar, bass, drums, or behind the microphone. Darin White – Sales

Darin began following his father’s and grandfather’s footsteps right out of high school. Beginning in carpet like his dad-they both began the journey of learning Hardwood Finishing. Together they have become Bona Certified Craftsman. Darin has over 12 years experience installing flooring of all kinds, including hardwood sanding and finishing. Darin grew up watching his dad give his all to this business, and is doing the same to expand the reach of JW Floorcoverings.
